Chow Yun Fat

Chow Yun Fat lahir di Pulau Lamma, Hong Kong pada tanggal 18 Mei 1955. Chow Yun Fat merupakan salah satu aktor Hong Kong yang sangat terkenal di dunia, Chow Yun Fat bisa di sejajarkan dengan Bintang Film legendaris lainnya seperti Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Zang Ziyi dan juga Michelle Yeoh. Chow Yun Fat tidak seperti Bintang film Hong Kong lainnya yang bisa terkenal karena kepandaiannya dalam bela diri.

Karir berakting Chow Yun Fat dimulai dari serial televisi TVB sebuah stasiun lokal Hongkong. Tidak butuh waktu lama Chow Yun Fat menjadi terkenal di Hong Kong setelah serial televisi The (Shanghai) Bund di tahun 1980 yang bercerita tentang gangster di era 1930an membuat Chwo Yun Fat menjadi bintang. The Bund menjadi sinetron paling populer di Hong Kong dan menjadi salah satu serial televisi yang paling populer di Asia.

Karir film layar lebar Chow Yun Fat mulai mencuat ke permukaan setelah Chow Yun Fat bergabung dengan John Woo membuat film gangster pada tahun 1986 dengan judul “A Better Tomorrow”. Filem ini menjadi film terlaris di beberapa negara Asia dan menjadikan Chow Yun Fat dan John Woss sebagai megastar. Chow Yun Fat memenangi Aktor terbaik Hong Kong pada film pertamannya itu. Karena kesuksesan film A Better Tomorrow yang mendapatkan penghasilan tertinggi di Hong Kong waktu itu, dan A Better Tomorrow menjadi tolok ukur untuk film gangster lainnya.
